Quiz 3 on HTML/CSS will be a “take home” test worth 25 points
Here is how it will work:
Review the introduction to HTML/CSS for journalists that we covered in class
Sign up for an account with http://www.codecademy.com. (It’s free. It’s a good organization. Not going to sell you stuff or spam you.)
Go to the first lesson in Web Fundamentals: Introduction to HTML. Go at your own pace. You can stop and return to the lesson as you wish.
Complete as much as you want. Quiz points will be awarded for each of the following sections completed:
1. Introduction to HTML
-HTML Basics = 20 points
-Project: Build Your Own Webpage = 5 points
2. HTML Structure: Using Lists
-HTML Basics II = 10 points
-Project: Social Networking Profile = 5 points
3. HTML Structure: Tables, Divs, and Spans
-HTML Basics III = 10 points
-Project: Clickable Photo Page = 5 points
4. Introduction to CSS
-CSS: An Overview = 10 points
-Project: Design a Button for Your Website = 5 points
When you are done, email me a link to your Code Academy profile. I can see the courses you completed.
Some tips for using Code Academy:
-Take your time. Pace yourself.
