Post 10: Audio and Photo due April 7

Due Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m.

Worth 50 points

1. Find a relevant and compelling person with something to say about your topic. Set up a time for your in-person interview. Have a backup plan.

2. Prepare and research your questions.

3. Do an in-person interview with your audio recorder/cellphone.

4. Photograph your subject. Make sure your photo is clear, in focus, and that we can see the person’s face.

5. Edit your audio interview to a maximum of 2 minutes. It is OK if your questions are heard, but it’s best to only hear subject. That way they get more time and focus. Export as .mp3.

6. Write up a short introduction to your post. Who is the person? Why is she/he someone we should hear from? What does she/he have to say? Tease your audio. Your text should motivate your reader to listen to the audio. Include hyperlinks to text for more information.

8. Post your text introduction, a photo of the subject, and your edited audio interview in a single blog post.

9. Write a compelling headline that includes your subject’s name and uses descriptive key-words.

10. Here are step-by-step instructions for getting your audio from your device to your blog.

Here is an example of a former student’s assignment: Stockings for the Troops – Emma Boeckle Interview
